Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality (AR) technologies allow computer-generated content to be superimposed over a live camera view of the real world. With the help of advanced AR technology (e.g. adding computer vision and object recognition) the information about the surrounding real world of the user becomes interactive and digitally manipulable.

How is AR useful in CAD world?
This can help us in augmenting other useful related information over our CAD models when someone enables this mode. For example, objects in the real world can be augmented with their dimensions.

Project we have worked on AR @ 3D -
For one of our European client, we developed a web based application. While pointing user’s mobile web browser to specific url, it opens a web page to access camera, take live video feed and detecting given logo and/or object, process it, and augment related information over it.

What are the technologies required for the development of AR projects?
We have developed 3 prototype based on 3 different technologies, names of technologies are as follows-
  • Google Cloud Vision API
  • Catchoom (CraftAR)
  • awe.js
Where is this AR technology useful?
This technology mixes the information from both the worlds, virtual & real. And fills user space with lot of useful data to process and gain. This helps user to switch between these worlds seamlessly and make the best use of both.

Mixed Reality

Mixed Reality also referred to as hybrid reality encompassing both real and virtual worlds.

IPCM (Interactive Product Content Management)
Moving from static product catalogs to interactive 3D smart digital replicas. Solution consists of application software products with scalable license model.

SBL (Simulation Based Learning)
Moving from e-learning to s-learning—state of the art in knowledge transfer for education. Simulation/VR based training, interactive experiential learning. Software and display solutions with scalable licensed curriculum development model.

RAVE (Real Asset Virtualization Environment)
3D Models of Manufacturing Assets (for example process manufacturing machinery) are incorporated into a virtual environment and then linked to real-time data associated with that asset.
