Autodesk Revit Architecture is a robust architectural design and documentation software application created by Autodesk for architects and building professionals. The tools and features that makeup Revit Architecture are specifically designed to support building information modeling (BIM) workflows.

There are the number of Revit plugins (add-on applications) developed by ProtoTech Solutions. These are available on the Autodesk App Store as well.

Custom Plugin Development

ProtoTech has developed a custom program for an Architectural firm to get Build and Version properties from Revit files and displayed it in front of the file name in file explorer (Windows Explorer). Refer above screenshots

ProtoTech has developed following plugins/add-ins for Revit-

  • 3D PDF Exporter: 3D PDF is a portable document format, independent from application software, and operating systems, and can be shared very easily. This plugin exports model data from Revit into 3D PDF (PRC type) format.
  • OBJ Exporter: It exports the model to OBJ file. OBJ (or .OBJ) is a geometry definition file format first developed by Wavefront Technologies. The file format is open and has been universally adopted by other 3D graphics application vendors. This plugin can export color and transparency of parts from Revit file formats.
  • WebGL Exporter: It exports your model to an HTML document that can be viewed in the browser. This HTML document can be shared easily with anyone whether that person has Revit installed in the machine.
